Meet Dr. Fernando A. Piñero
Dr. Fernando A. Piñero is a Yale-trained Foot and Ankle surgeon who treats all conditions of the foot and ankle including sports injuries, sprains, tendinitis, joint pain, heel pain, plantar fasciitis, arch pain, flat feet, fractures, bunions and hammertoes, arthritis, complex congenital or acquired deformities, nail and skin conditions, as well as complications from diabetes and vascular disease.
Raised in Puerto Rico where he received his bachelor’s degree from the University of Puerto Rico before obtaining his Doctorate of Podiatric Medicine from the New York College of Podiatric Medicine. He then completed extensive and comprehensive foot and ankle surgical residency at Yale New Haven Hospital. He is Board Qualified by the ABFAS. Dr. Piñero has a professional background in foot and ankle sports medicine and has experience in treating many collegiate athletes and weekend warriors with his non-operative and surgical skills. He has an interest in advancing the profession of podiatric medicine, and volunteers as an attending surgeon, teaching resident doctors in the Yale New Haven Health system.
El Dr. Fernando Piñero es un cirujano podiátrico capaz de tratar todas las condiciones del pie y tobillo tales como: lesiones deportivas, torceduras, tendinitis, dolor en las articulaciones, dolor en el talón, fascitis plantar, dolor en la plantar del pie y arco, pie plano, fracturas, juanetes, dedos martillos, artritis, deformidades complejas congénitas y adquiridas, condiciones de la uña y la piel, y complicaciones del pie diabético.
El Dr. Piñero creció en Puerto Rico, obtuvo su bachillerato en la Universidad de Puerto Rico en Humacao y luego obtuvo su grado medico en el New York College of Podiatric Medicine. Luego termino su residencia quirúrgica en el Yale New Haven Hospital donde entreno extensamente en la cirugía reconstructiva de pie y tobillo. Actualmente es Board Qualified por la American Board of Foot & Ankle Surgery. El Dr. Piñero posee extensa experiencia tratando deportistas y atletas ambos a nivel colegial y aficionados. Dentro de sus interesas está el fomentar y desarrollar nuevas técnicas en su profesión. Además, es médico tratante en el sistema de salud de Yale New Haven Health donde también participa voluntariamente entrenando a la próxima generación de cirujanos.
